Nature Adventure

Enjoy a walk through nature, checking out animal habitats, exploring the environment of our beautiful community and creating fun crafts. It’s a new adventure each day. Join us in creating craft projects using your imagination, creativity and items you find in nature.

Craft Camp

  • Ages: 6 and up
  • Fee: $15.00 per session
  • Location: Poultney Elementary School
  • Dates: July 7-10, 2025 (4 days)
  • Time: 10:30-12:00 PM

We will be creating a variety of things from wood candle holders to rock garden creations. Join us and bring a little bit of nature home with you each day.

Wildlife Talk

  • Ages: Any

  • Speaker: Scott MacLachian DVM. Former owner and now retired Veterinarian from Poultney Veterinary Clinic

Join Dr. Scott as he shares photos and stories of wildlife in Veterinary practice. Listen to local stories of animals in our area. Check out his new collection of skulls! Will you be able to guess what animal they are from? Learn how to draw a skull too. You will also be able to enjoy his photographs and join in for questions and discussions.

Pond Hill Ranch Visit

Come learn about horses and rodeos! Get a first hand look at the stables on a ranch tour and take a pony ride.

Poultney Bicycle Adventure

  • Ages 8 and up
  • Fee: $15.00 per session
  • Location: Meet at Poultney Elementary School
  • Dates: July 14-18, 2025

Let’s ride around Poultney on bikes. We will explore a variety of trails and routes around Poultney including; beginner mountain bike trails, the rail trail, street riding and some paths you may not know about. Along the way we can stop at the Poultney River, hilltop viewing spots and perhaps discover some new places. The goal of this program is for riders to have fun, try riding in a variety of settings and learn some new riding skills.

Equipment: Functioning bike with pumped up tires and working brakes, Helmet and Water Bottle. Participants must be strong enough to ride for 1.5 hours on a variety of terrain and ride in a straight line and follow simple instructions (riding in the street and sidewalks). *participants are encouraged to bring their bike to Johnson & Son Bikeworks for a free safety check before camp.

Join us in collaboration with Poultney Rec for our new camp series for teens! 2 weeks of workshops alongside REclaimED makers to build and grow a new local Community Garden. Dirt slingers, builders and makers all are welcome. We hope to engage all interests in our community building teen camp.
