Outdoor Rec GuideCamping

While there are all manner of primitive camps for hunting (and private opportunities may be available if you speak to the right folks in Poultney), fantastic public camping accommodations can be found at Lake St. Catherine State Park from late May through mid-October. Several privately owned campgrounds and campsites exist in the area too - check availability at your favorite booking website.

Lake St. Catherine State Park

Prior to state ownership in 1953, Lake St. Catherine State Park was historically a summer camp for boys. These days, the 117-acre park offers a 61-site campground, including 50 campsites for tents and RVs and 11 lean-to shelters.

Campers (and day use visitors!) enjoy the park’s nature center, playground, concession stand, hiking trails, interpretive programs, frisbee golf course, fishing, boat rentals, and other recreation opportunities.
